Telling your story
Choosing outfits for your engagement session
Trying to figure out what to wear can feel overwhelming. There is power in the colors and style of your outfit you choose to convey your story and who you are. Something to think of when choosing your oufit is aesthetic and does it work for the location. You want to paint a picture with each of your choices. Shoe choice, length of a dress are all a part of the story. Example of this is if you choose a winery for your shoot; a longer dress gives a more romantic and slow evening vibe - where as a shorter dress gives a flirty, fun, casual vibe.
Chris & Lauren | Engagement Session
We went from laughter to tears then back to laughter again. We ended their shoot in this dreamy romantic spring light. I was getting all the Pride and Prejudice meets Little Women vibes!
BHM Motherhood Session | Lindsey
…I have this passion that ignites during these sessions. I want to capture each hug, kiss touch and feeling that happens in this season. I know and value how important these short seasons are. They are always worth capturing for mama’s to treasure…..
Esther & Dane Harrison | Destination Wedding
Dane and Esther’s wedding day I would describe as joy filled, bright, classy and soft. Dane and Esther leading up to their ceremony, were both so happy and excited, but yet calm. Both of them were fully present, ready to be married and to celebrate!
Questions to ask before you start planning your wedding.
Planning a wedding seems like a daunting task - filled with to do’s, don’ts, and musts that you have to figure out. What if I told you that answering the 4 questions below will make decisions ten times easier?! The answers can serve as an anchor and a constant to you both for each decision that needs to be made throughout the planning process.
Mr. & Mrs. Hester | Flagstone Farm Wedding
“But, they didn’t let that stop them from being fully present throughout their day; smiling and ready to celebrate as husband and wife.”
David & Magen | Engagement Session
“From Magen’s long, flowing, mermaid hair; the dreamy light; her soft blue flirty dress; and the way he looked at her; it was a dream!”
Mr. & Mrs. Hollis Medley | Eclectic Wedding
Hannah and Hollis planned for a moody and eclectic September wedding. The morning of their wedding, fog rolled in along with some scattered storms. I had to smile; this was definitely Hannah and Hollis’ wedding day.
Mr. & Mrs. Stone | Flagstone Farm Wedding
“…..Taylor’s off shoulder dress WITH POCKETS was one of my favorite details of the day. The dress was elegant and romantic in every way….”
Christopher & Taylor | Engagement Session
The first thing that caught my attention when I first met Christopher and Taylor was that they both had gorgeous blue eyes. I knew I wanted to capture them in a way that really drew attention to that.
Mr. & Mrs. McNeill | Wedding
A bagpipe filled the air in celebration as Mr. & Mrs. McNeill walked out as man and wife.
Marta & Grant | Couples Session
The evening flew by during the shoot. We chased the sunset. I asked them to kiss and snuggle a lot, setting the mood with their favorite music playing in the background.
The Gray Family | Family Session
…until this new, big brother holds his precious baby sister. Important side note, their mama is a special kind of super-woman. She worked all day on her feet as a doctor on the OB floor then went on to have her own baby that night!!!
I melted into a puddle while editing this sweet, sweet session. As I am sure you will too.
Mr. & Mrs. Rutledge | Wedding
I could go on and on about the exquisite details of the day: her muted pink roses, the elegant tiered cake, the cozy getting-ready cottage, the balloon archway into the reception hall, the fact that Emmett’s wedding band was Carmen’s dad’s. *cue the tears* From the stunning bride to the epic sunset to the amazing staff at Flagstone Farm…the day was perfect, even for a mid August wedding in Alabama. I can’t wait to capture another session with this couple and to shoot at this venue again in the future.
Mr. & Mrs. Baker | Wedding
…….from Dereks ring, made from a Jack Daniels barrel, to her gorgeous shoes.
We started portraits at the Governor’s Mansion and ended the night with an elevator kiss…
Mr. & Mrs Powell | Wedding
Blue jean jackets embroidered with “‘Til Death,” black bridesmaid dresses, her blue velvet boots, and crowns (they had a crowning ceremony - a special Arabic tradition), and her rings (antique rings always get me)!
I counted down the days until Zach and Michelle’s October wedding.
